国連シンポジウム 「国連安保理の機能と日本の役割～大量破壊兵器の脅威にどう立ち向かうか～」

国際の平和と安全の維持に主要な責任を負う国連安全保障理事会が、大量破壊兵器等の拡散をはじめとする困難かつ様々な課題に現実的に適応していく中で、日本はどのような役割を果たすことができるでしょうか。
国連広報センターは外務省との共催により、シンポジウム「国連安保理の機能と日本の役割～大量破壊兵器の脅威にどう立ち向かうか～」を1月25日（月）に東京・渋谷の国連大学本部ビル（UNハウス）で開催します。国際社会において日本が特にユニークな立場にある軍縮・不拡散の分野に焦点を当て、特に安保理において、他の国には果たし得ない役割をいかに果たしていくことができるのかを議論します。ぜひご参加ください。

Public Symposium on the Functions of the United Nations Security Council and Japan’s role:Countering Proliferation of WMD (tentative)

In recent years, the United Nations Security Council – the primary organ for dealing with issues of international peace and security – has adjusted and adapted itself to the needs of the ever-transforming international community, including the issue of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
In partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Information Centre will organize a public symposium on the functions of the United Nations Security Council and Japan’s role on Monday, 25 January 2010 at the United Nations University Headquarters Building (UN House) in Shibuya, Tokyo. Focusing on the area of disarmament and non-proliferation where Japan is in a unique position internationally, the symposium will discuss how Japan could play its role especially in the arena of the Security Council. We hope that a wide range of people will attend.
