“WFP’s role in the humanitarian world”

Guest Speaker: Mr. Mohamed Saleheen

“Together with the UN Seminar” is designed to provide opportunities to learn and think about the activities of the United Nations, and to know how one can collaborate “together” with the Organization. With the cooperation of other UN entities and partner organizations, the series of these interactive seminars have been hosted by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Tokyo, and will continually be held on a monthly basis.

The theme of the sixteenth seminar in June is “WFP’s role in the humanitarian world”. Mr. Saleheen will talk about WFP and its activities, including its response to the Great East Japan Earthquake. We will be having a discussion with the participants after the talk.

Mr. Saleheen has led some of WFP’s most challenging operations as Representative and Country Director in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Sudan, and Iraq.
