Together with the UN Seminar
“Economic Development and Intellectual Property”
Guest Speaker: Ms. Maria De Icaza,
Head, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Japan Office

“Together with the UN Seminar” is designed to provide opportunities to learn and think about the activities of the United Nations, and to know how one can collaborate “together” with the Organization. With the cooperation of other UN entities and partner organizations, the series of these interactive seminars have been hosted by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Tokyo, and will continually be held on a monthly basis.

The theme of the fifth seminar in July is “Economic Development and Intellectual Property” and will take place on Thursday, 8 July 2010 at the United Nations University Headquarters Building (UN House) in Shibuya, Tokyo. The speaker, Ms. Maria De Icaza, representing WIPO Japan Office will briefly explain the different types of IP and how they can contribute to economic development and will be having a discussion with the participants after the talk.
