国連難民高等弁務官事務所（UNHCR） 「UNHCRのミッション ～世界難民デーに際して～」

国連広報センター（UNIC）はこのたび、「いっしょに国連」キャンペーンの一環として、第4回「いっしょに国連セミナー」を開催します。本セミナーでは、参加者がさまざまな国連機関や関係団体の皆さんと「いっしょに」国連の活動やグローバルな課題について学び、理解を深め、具体的に自分に何ができるのかを考えていきます。今後も、毎月1回程度のペースで開催する予定です。
「いっしょに国連セミナー」の第4回目は、国連難民高等弁務官事務所（UNHCR）のヨハン・セルス駐日代表をゲスト・スピーカーに迎え、「UNHCRのミッション ～世界難民デーに際して～」をテーマに、UNHCRの活動について紹介していただきます。また、参加者と共にディスカッションも行う予定です。 UNHCRは、世界の難民の保護と支援を行う国連の機関です。1951年の設立以来、UNHCRは5,000万人以上の生活再建を支援し、1954年と1981年にノーベル平和賞を受賞しました。現在は国連の専門機関になっています。セルス代表は2008年9月より駐日代表を務めています。ぜひ奮ってご参加ください。

“Mission of UNHCR -- Special Seminar for World Refugee Day”

Representative of Japan Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
“Together with the UN Seminar” is designed to provide opportunities to learn and think about the activities of the United Nations, and to know how one can collaborate “together” with the Organization. With the cooperation of other UN entities and partner organizations, the series of these interactive seminars have been hosted by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Tokyo, and will continually be held on a monthly basis.
The theme of the fourth seminar in June is “Mission of UNHCR -- Special Seminar for World Refugee Day.” The speaker, Mr. Johan Cels, representing UNHCR Office in Japan will talk about programmes of UNHCR and will be having a discussion with the participants after the talk.
